Magazine covering journalism issues and opinion.

Columbia Scholastic Press Association

An educational press organization providing services to student newspapers, magazines and yearbooks. CSPA also offers contests and critiques, and an on-line magazine. It is owned and operated by Columbia University.

Allows you to put your paper's Website online. Students can also search the entire network of sites for articles on a particular topic.

National Scholastic Press Association

A national student press organization that offers contests and critiques, workshops and conventions, the magazine Trends, and many other resources, including links to sites to help journalists gather information.

Search engine indexes, directories, and libraries.

NewsIndex

Search engine for current news stories.

Newsmakers

Newsmakers is an online photo service. They sell at special rates to student publications. Although most photos are shot by professionals, they encourage students to contribute.

Straight Scoop News Bureau

A site that provides student journalists with information about the realities of drugs and drug use.

Student Press Law Center

The nonprofit organization dedicated to providing legal help and information to the student media and journalism educators.

Society of Professional Journalists

The largest journalism professional organization, which now accepts student members. Includes an ftp archive site for research.

U.S. House of Representatives

Contact members of Congress, read press releases, examine laws under consideration and access Congressional schedules.

U.S. Senate

Contact senators and get information on schedules and committees.

The White House

Access the President's speeches, press releases and other documents, or email the White House.
