    • Northwest Computer Associates Training (1999)
      • Enrolled in this local companies program to receive instruction in Microsoft Visual Basic and J++, including projects involving creation of programs for educational purposes.

      • Chosen to participate in this cooperative program between Oregon State University, The Greater Albany Public Schools, Lincoln County Schools, and US West, to receive instruction in the use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Apple HyperCard, and the rudiments of HyperText Markup Language.
    • ASSIST Astronomy Teaching Program (1989–1991)
      • One of twelve chosen nation wide to receive instruction over the course of three summers leading to a Masters Degree in Science with an emphasis in Astronomy.
