About General Biology 1.2
General Biology 1.2
continues with the study of life, focusing on the five kingdoms of living organisms. Starting with bacteria, themes such as respiration, reproduction, and metabolism are studied. Moving through the kingdoms into the animal realm, more complex themes, such as defense, are studied. Students will understand how diverse forms of life complete similar essential life functions in this laboratory-based course.
There are seven
units to this course. Each unit, or module, represents several chapters in a traditional general biology
textbook in terms of the content and concepts covered. I believe the
units are much more dynamic than a textbook because they contain links
to many authors who are updating their sites as you read this page.
Please go to each
module and read the opening pages to find out what will be covered over
the course of this class. The modules can be accessed by clicking
on the Lessons link in the navigation bar at the top of this page.
