Grading
99-90 = A 89-80 = B 79-70 = C 69-60 = D You may view your scores at any time, by accessing "My Tools," then "Grades." At the end of the long list of 55 assignments, you'll see points possible, your points earned to date, and percentages on the left. These percentages are misleading; they reflect your scores ONLY on the work you've turned in. Assignments not turned in will affect your grade. If you're taking this course for a grade through your school, they may want your scores half-way through the semester for a progress report. In that case, you should be completely through with all of the assignments for Units 1, 2, and 3. There are 600 points possible in these units, combined. You can calculate your mid-semester score by taking your total points turned in and dividing that amount by 600. PLEASE NOTE: 300 points, total, are awarded for your video projects for Units 1, 2, and 3. If you don't turn them in by mid-semester, you will likely receive an "F" on your progress report card. There are 1740 points possible in the course, altogether. To calculate your final grade, take the total number of points turned in and divide that amount by 1740. PLEASE NOTE: 300 points, total, are awarded for your video projects for Units 4, 5, and 6. In addition, you're assigned a final video, worth 200 points. Please plan ahead; the video projects are lengthy undertakings. The end of the year is typically hectic, with assignments from other classes coming due, all at the same time. I suggest you get them done early. If you need to your school's video camera or borrow one from a friend, set an appointment to use it right away, and don't wait until the last minute. Feel free to use the "Calendar" feature in "My Tools" to help you make a schedule for creating your videos and borrowing equipment if necessary.
