| Latin 1.1 |
ProceduresI will expect you to read, study, and complete all assignments of each chapter of Latin Via Ovid. This means that you will study the Dialogue, Vocabulary, Structure, Exercises, Culture, History, and Etymology sections of the text, and then translate the story. You will also see that I have set up reading assignments in Edith Hamilton's Mythology, and that most chapters also have an Internet assignment. These are the minimum requirements for the course. They, I hope, will be fun as well as informative and will lead you to explore Latin and Roman sources on the Internet as well as to learn to read Latin. Check your e-mail regularlyEvery time you check into this course, check your e-mail for new announcements, etc. To do this, go to My Tools and click the E-Mail link. You'll need to type in your user name and your password (you can later change your password by selecting the key symbol at the bottom of the e-mail page). Review the Checklist for each chapterTo help you get organized, I have a checklist at the beginning of each chapter that sets up what you need to do. I will also be available through the Contact page for questions and help. Turn in your workYou will be writing papers and doing some of the exercises in "long hand," and sending them to me for review, grading, and credit. The best way to do this is to use a word-processing program like MS Word, save your documents in rich text format (RTF), and then upload the file or copy and paste the text using the links in the lessons.
Remember! Save a copy of all your work on your local computer. For more help, see How to Submit Assessments from the Student Orientation to COOLSchool in the COOLSchool Student Center.
