| Latin 1.1 |
Course OutlineYou will be expected to do ten chapters per semester in Latin I for high school credit. This means that you have almost two weeks to complete each chapter in a normal school year. I recommend that you do one or more exercises a day and allow three days to polish the translation and do the other assignments, including the Internet assignment. How fast you go is up to you, but in studying any language it is best you work at it every day. You can go faster if you wish, but remember to allow for the lag in Internet communication between you and me. I would suggest creating a plan for yourself using the calendar. You will be tempted to put off working on Latin every day. Noli
agere! Don't do this! The biggest problem that past COOLSchool
Latin students have had has been not working on the course in a
regular manner. Even though COOLSchool allows ten months to finish
any course, you should normally take one semester. The record for
Latin I, First Semester, is a little more than two months during
the summer. You will most likely take more than this. Plan to spend
a lot of time on this course! |
