Goals and Objectives

It is the belief of the instructor that a student who desires to create in artistic mediums will have a more comprehensive understanding of art if he or she is introduced to the purpose that the creation of art and architecture played in previous cultures. It is the goal of this course to allow the student to

• Explore the artistic images of others, and develop the ability to form an individual interpretation of why and how man created through the ages.
  
  
• Explore the connection between the history of a culture and the art it produced.
  
  
• Interpret how art reflected the character of that culture.
