You will earn a grade in Personal Finance based on points earned from a variety of sources - study questions, case studies, summaries of outside reading, quizzes, tests, projects, and participation in discussion groups. Discussion groups will be a major component of your grade. Since we can't be in the same room at the same time, as in a "normal" class, we will need to rely on our discussions to keep us going! Your input is important, not only towards a grade, but in order for us to learn about each other. All assignments that you submit will be graded and feedback will be provided online. In order to check your grades and view the feedback from your teacher (me), click on either the name of the assignment or View Grades. E-mail is the way we communicate, therefore: You should check your e-mail each time you log on. To check your e-mail, click on My Tools in the top navigation bar, and then click on the mail box icon.
*****************************IMPORTANT************************************** All assignments must be completed and turned in 5 days before the end of the grading period. Please let me know, IN ADVANCE, if you need grade information at times that differ from the "regular" grading periods (e.g., 9 weeks, semesters, etc.). ********************************************************************************* Points will accumulate during the course of the semester. At the end of the time allowed for the course, you will receive a grade based on the number of points you have earned. The grading scale is shown below. Grading Scale:
Assignments: 50% of total grade Quizzes and Tests: 25% of total grade Participation in discussion groups: 25% of total grade |
